BLESSING EKARUME,
Program Coordinator
Blessing Ekarume is a social advocate, engineer, and researcher passionate about youth empowerment, social equity, and applying science and engineering to global challenges. With over seven years of leadership in social impact, she has advanced sustainable development and community empowerment.
At the University of Lagos, Blessing made history as the first female President of both the Sustainable Development Advocates (the university’s first SDGs club) and the Society of Petroleum Engineers. She secured funding and partnerships with leading organizations including the World Bank, Hult Prize, and Millennium Oceans Prize.
A graduate of the University of Lagos’ Faculty of Engineering with honors, Blessing earned recognition for her work on sustainable energy and later received the prestigious Marie Curie Fellowship, conducting AI and energy research with Purdue University and the University of Puerto Rico–Bayamón. Professionally, she has worked in the energy sector as an intern and graduate engineer at Waltersmith Petroman Limited.
Currently, Blessing serves as Programs Coordinator at MCN, supporting the growth of the Millennium Fellowship and guiding student leaders worldwide to advance the United Nations’ Global Goals.
