Labiba Rifah Nanjeeba,

Program Coordinator

Labiba Rifah Nanjeeba is a passionate individual who has demonstrated a strong commitment to social change and gender equality. She has recently completed her graduation in English Literature from Brac University, Bangladesh. She is a driven youth leader who strives to debunk gender stereotypes and empower women with social entrepreneurship initiatives in underprivileged communities. Labiba firmly believes in the power of youth to drive meaningful social impact and shape a brighter future.

Inspired by the quote from Martin Luther King Jr., "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere," she reflected on the interconnectedness of global issues and tried to address social injustices at all levels. She, along with her friends, co-founded the non-profit organization "Paper Cranes of Venus," which aspires to establish gender equality and peace through education on SRHR, menstrual health and hygiene, consent, and digital literacy.

Through her initiatives, Labiba has successfully empowered many women in marginalized communities in Bangladesh, highlighting her ability to create positive change at the grassroots level. Her vision is to help minority communities worldwide voice themselves as well as promote inclusivity and empathy in every corner of the world.

Labiba's journey as a Millennium Fellow and Campus Director exemplifies the potential of fellowship experience to shape future leaders. She learned about the power of empathy, inclusivity, and humility to make a social impact in communities. With the learnings and connections from the fellowship, she was able to put her project into action.

As she takes on a new role as a program coordinator for the Millennium Fellowship, Class of 2023, Labiba is inspired to open doors of opportunity and new experiences and learnings for the fellows. Her aim is to help the future leaders from the Millennium Fellowship class of 2023 shine and make a social impact with their innovative ideas around the world.
