Christi is a student at Concordia University-Portland where she is part of the Partners in Health chapter. Read on to find out more about Christi, why she's attending MCC2014, and how you can join the movement.
Although her school does not have many globally-focused student groups, there is great interest in pressing causes abroad. Christi has led trips of nursing students to work at a hospital in Haiti. She knows that her peers want to make a difference and that they share her passion. Her time in Partners in Health has emboldened and empowered me to invigorate the community in Portland to be active in global issues.
On why she will be attending MCC2014: "MCC2014 is a valuable conference for several reasons- influential speakers, empowering sessions, and the chance to meet other world-changers in my generation. It would be an honor to be a part of it; what I can offer to MCC2014 is my perspective from being an active part of the work that Partners in Health is supporting all over the world. One of the strengths of a conference of this type is the diverse perspectives the delegates bring; I can't wait to be among the leaders of the next revolution in global development."
Christi, as well as many other student leaders from across the globe, will be joining us this October 10-12th, 2014 at the 6th Annual Millennium Campus Conference. There, they and other students will be exchanging ideas and talking about how to achieve the UN Millennium Goals. in addition, everyone will be able to attend keynote speeches by influential global leaders such as Nicholas Kristof, Dr. Paul Farmer, among others.
