Joseph Cheayan has a BSC Degree in Economics and a Candidate of BA Degree in Sociology at the African Methodist Episcopal University (A.M.E.U) in Monrovia, Liberia. Before Becoming National Coordinator of the Pan African Youth Leaders Network (ROJALNU)-Liberia, Joseph served as Student Representative to the University Faculty Council, vice president of the Sinoe County A.M.E. University Student Union and Secretary General of the Progress Student Leading Movement (PSALM)-Political Party. As Activist, he has represented his Country at Many Global Conferences that include; the Global Youth Forum held in Bali, Indonesia, the Pan African Youth Leadership Summit held in Dakar, Senegal, African Youth Pre-Conference held in Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia, African Youth Conference on post2015 held in Nairobi, Kenya,, Model United Nations Conference held in Kiev, Ukraine, International Youth Symposium held in Ouagadougou, Burkina-Faso, etc. Joseph has also worked as program Officer-Legislative Governance at the Institute for Research and Democratic Development (IREDD) in Liberia, a pro-democracy and Human rights advocacy organization; where he monitored budgets on service delivery across sectors, strengthened the capacity of community-based organizations to monitor budgets, and strengthened the role and capacity of legislators who are representing citizens. He was an active stakeholder on the Liberia Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, which seeks to improve accountability within the mining industry especially for community rights under the mining law. Joseph also served as Youth Consultant during the National Consultation on the Liberian Youth Common Position on Post2015 Development Agenda.  Joseph is 2015 Fellow of the President Barack Obama Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI). This year, he is excited to joint Global innovative youth and Student Leaders from Universities around the World in participating in the Millennium Campus Fellowship as remote Fellow.
