Dr. Jonathan White's primary areas of specialization and teaching are: domestic and global inequality; political economy; globalization and human rights; social entrepreneurship and social innovation; and war, peace, and genocide. Professor White currently serves as Chair of the US board of directors for WE Charity and serves as Senior Consultant to the AP (Advanced Placement) With We.Org service-learning program. Dr. White’s books include The Engaged Sociologist: Connecting the Classroom to the Community (co-authored with Kathleen Korgen, 2015, 5th Edition), Sociologists in Action: Sociology, Social Change, and Social Justice (co-edited with Kathleen Korgen and Shelley White, 2014, 2nd Edition), and Sociologists in Action on Inequalities: Race, Class, Gender, and Sexuality (co-edited with Shelley White and Kathleen Korgen, 2015). He also has authored numerous articles and book chapters.
