Andrew Flagel is the Vice President for Advancement and Member Engagement for the Association of American Colleges and Universities, the premier organization for quality and equity in undergraduate higher education. Dr. Flagel also serves as a Trustee and Chair of the Advancement Committee for the Tremont School, one of the nation’s most inclusive and innovative independent secondary schools.
Prior to joining the AAC&U in 2018, Andrew was the Senior Vice President for Students and Enrollment at Brandeis University, and was also a Senior Lecturer in the Brandeis College of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Flagel previously lived in Northern Virginia where he was Associate Vice President, Chair of the Bachelor of Applied Studies, and Dean of Admissions at George Mason University; Executive Director of the Washington Journalism and Media Conference and the Washington Youth Summit on the Environment; and served as the President of the Parent Teacher Organization for Bonnie Brae Elementary School.
Dr. Flagel also served as the Director of Admissions at the Flint campus of the University of Michigan, Director of Admissions for the Congressional Youth Leadership Council, and a Regional Director of Admissions at The George Washington University, where he received his undergraduate and master’s degrees before earning his Doctorate of Philosophy from Michigan State University.
