Globemed, Northeastern university
Shawn Mozeika, a second-year behavioral neuroscience and health science student at Northeastern University, represents Northeastern’s chapter of GlobeMed. Founded upon the cooperative decision making between communities, GlobeMed fights the gap in health equity while fostering a strong sense of partnership. While GlobeMed at Northeastern’s primary focus is water and sanitation, Shawn uses the organization as a platform to build social advocacy skills, which he hopes to apply to his specific passions of mental health and substance abuse. Whatever education or experience lies ahead for Shawn, he hopes it will be centered around rethinking mental illness and addiction, breaking down their barriers to care.
