Global Architecture Brigades at Boston University

Paola is a junior at Boston University majoring in International Relations and minoring in Economics, Public Health, and Latin American Studies. She is involved in Global Architecture Brigades, a student group that fundraises and raises awareness about development in rural communities in Honduras and Panama and that travels twice a year to those communities to build public health projects such as eco-stoves, latrines, showers, cement floors, and water pilas. The trips also have an education component for the local communities, and we work actively with other GB chapters for holistic development. This project encourages Partnerships for Poverty in the Boston area, facilitates and strengthens global poverty awareness and cross-cultural conversations on campus, and launches a fund for scholarships for volunteers to travel to Honduras with GB.

Paola is working with Ramon, another BU student involved in Global Brigades to advance their organization's impact.
