At Barry University, Kevin is heavily involved. Kevin has been the president of organizations such as MALES (Men Achieving Leadership Excellence and Success) and MUN (Barry’s Model United Nations). Kevin is the senate chair of SGA (Student Government Association) and also a Barry Service Corps Fellow for CCSI (Center for Community Service Initiatives). As part of MALES, they seek to develop young men into gentlemen that can positively contribute to their community. They teach young men about community service, being a gentlemen, and professional etiquette. As part of MUN, he has attended delegate competitions to debate social justice solutions. As part of MUN, he has also worked with international non-profit organizations such as Food for the Poor. Kevin has been a part of SGA as well. He has worked with the Bridging the Gap program which pairs upper classmen with first year students to help first year students adjust to college life. He was also a part of the process when they passed the smoking bill to make Barry a smoke free campus. Kevin works for the CCSI as a Barry Service Corps Fellow as well. In this program, he works with a team to assist a community partner, PACT (People Acting for Community Together), to bring about political change in Florida. Kevin leads service-learning students on community service trips. Plus, he also works on an individual project through this Fellowship program. Last year, for his individual project, Kevin brought together the cultural organizations on campus to work with Food for the Poor on a housing project in Jamaica.
