Background: Born in Madagascar. Received a UNICEF polio vaccination through the immunization initiative as child in Madagascar and was saved from a life of paralysis. This sparked interest in international studies/development.
Interests: Mobilizing youth to engage in political processes at all levels of government and increase general youth civic engagement (through service work). Has promoted this mission by serving as a lobbyist for UNA-USA, and also for UNICEF-Congressional Action Team (advocate for the good of global children through the UNICEF program at the congressional level). Serving as a coordinator for the Youth4SDGs campaign. Representing Malagasy youth at the UN as a youth delegate during the UN Youth Forum last February. Will represent Wesleyan university, American and Malagasy youth at COY11 in Paris this November.
Future goals: Establish a platform that helps youth create youth councils and bureaus at the local level and eventually scale it to the international level. Pursue a MPA or MPP in International Relations. Have a career as a field or research officer for UNDP or US representative to the UN.
