Sarah Harper is a student at the University of Florida where she's President of the College of Liberal Arts and Science Student Council. Sarah is looking forward to joining us at MCC2014 and we hope that you will also join the movement!
Sarah's organization has created the budgets to appropriate funds to 28 other student organizations. They help facilitate the growth and development of other student organizations as well as the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Sarah is also involved in the UF chapter of IDEAS for US.
On why Sarah wants to join MCC2014: "I am passionate about inspiring global change. At the University of Florida I have taken classes that have informed me on the changing ecology and what we can do to reverse or slow down the drastic changes that are happening on the planet. There are many developing nations that are developing in very dangerous ways that pollute the environment. It is important for all nations, including developed countries, to transition to sustainable development. This is an issue that I am very interested in learning more about and, through acquiring knowledge, helping to address. At MCC I hope to learn more about the issues that developing countries face and ways in which they can strive toward developing sustainably. I would bring my knowledge from the courses I have taken on ecological issues and my passion for change to MCC."
Sarah, as well as many other student leaders from across the globe, will be joining us this October 10-12th, 2014 at the 6th Annual Millennium Campus Conference. There, they and other students will be exchanging ideas and talking about how to achieve the UN Millennium Goals. in addition, everyone will be able to attend keynote speeches by influential global leaders such as Nicholas Kristof, Dr. Paul Farmer, among others.
