The University of Idaho Nourish International chapter has raised over $4,000 in the last year to give to underprivileged children in Indonesia. Currently, they are teaching English to children in the area as part of a six week program.
On why Dineka wants to attend MCC2014: "I want to attend the MCC so that I may meet people that are as passionate about human rights as I am. I think the MCC is an amazing opportunity to discuss important global issues and make an impact in the world. This conference will teach me extensive and necessary skills that I will be able to use during my time in college and for the rest of my life. Nourish International has already allowed me to rethink the things I am doing with my life. I have become much more globally conscious and have realized that I can help people around the world. The MCC will broaden my horizons even more, which will help me be a more well rounded person and allow me to broaden the impact I am able to make in my lifetime. I can offer exemplary planning and organizational skills to the conference. On top of that, I am very skilled in fundraising and marketing fundraising events to students. During the last year, I coordinated events that raised over $6000 and I am more than happy to share these experiences with other students who could learn from my successes and mistakes."
DIneka, as well as many other student leaders from across the globe, will be joining us this October 10-12th, 2014 at the 6th Annual Millennium Campus Conference. There, they and other students will be exchanging ideas and talking about how to achieve the UN Millennium Goals. in addition, everyone will be able to attend keynote speeches by influential global leaders such as Nicholas Kristof, Dr. Paul Farmer, among others.
