Delegate Spotlight: Desy Gitapratama

Desy Gitapratama is a student at the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology. She is the Vice Chairman of the Stuents Association Information Systems Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Techonology. She has also been a volunteer of Indonesian Youth Parliament, Indonesia Youth Educators, delegate of Indonesia Leadership Camp, and many others. 

The Information Systems Student Association is a non-profit of the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology. It was established to facilitate the activities of students majoring in information systems. Leadership is very important in the organization. Desy focuses on the development of members to enable them to improve their leadership after joining the Student Association of Information Systems. Each member leaves equipped to be a good leader for the environment and soon after becoming part of the public where they can help end extreme poverty.

On why Desy is attending MCC 2014: "I want to attend MCC2014 because this is a great moment for sharing information and experience from delegates from over 200 universities worldwide in transnational partnerships. By following this activity I will have an extraordinary experience to prepare Indonesia for the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015 to meet a lot of students from all over the world will be able to establish communication further to establish an organization that can endorse the UN Millennium Development goals. So far I have never joined the UN organization, therefore, I would like to learn a lot with different people from all over the world on various UN organizations in their country. Besides that, I have a personal mission to be able to follow events in the USA because I will continue master degree in the USA. So, if I could follow this activity I was able to reach two of my desire is to help the United Nations to join the organization and continuing education masters in USA."

Desy, as well as many other student leaders from across the globe, will be joining us this October 10-12th, 2014 at the 6th Annual Millennium Campus Conference. There, they and other students will be exchanging ideas and talking about how to achieve the UN Millennium Goals. in addition, everyone will be able to attend keynote speeches by influential global leaders such as Nicholas KristofDr. Paul Farmer, among others. Apply now!
